What fabrics can sublimation transfers be applied to?

Fabric content matters more with sublimation than with any other transfer type:

• 100% polyester — the best result. Colours come out brightest and most vibrant.
• 65% polyester blends — a softer, more muted, vintage-style look.
• Under 65% polyester — not recommended. The design will look washed out.
• 100% cotton — will not work. Sublimation ink has nothing to bond to.

If you need to print on cotton or dark garments, use custom DTF transfers instead — they work on any fabric and any colour.

How to apply a sublimation transfer

1. Set your heat press to 400°F.
2. Place the sublimation transfer face down on the garment.
3. Cover with parchment or butcher paper and press for 60 seconds at medium pressure.
4. Remove the transfer immediately.
