Puff Formula transfers are screen-printed plastisol transfers that rise off the garment for a textured, three-dimensional effect. With maximum opacity you can't see through, they're built for bold, trendy, attention-grabbing one-color graphics on cotton and cotton/poly blends.
Upload your print-ready artwork, size it on the 12.75" × 19" gang sheet, and choose one ink color from our 16 stock Puff colors. Gang multiple designs onto one sheet to maximize value — just leave space between graphics so you can cut them apart. Minimum order is 8 sheets per design and color; turnaround is 3 business days after your file is approved.
Please note: Puff Formula prints in one color only. For multi-color designs, see our Athletic or Vintage formulas; for full-color and photographic art, use our Custom DTF Transfers.
Artwork Guidelines
- File type: high-resolution PNG with a transparent background, at least 300 DPI. Images are automatically converted to a print-ready PDF when you upload.
- Spacing for the puff effect: design with at least 2 pt of positive space and 4 pt of negative space. The ink expands as it rises, so thin lines and tight gaps will close up.
- Best results: bold, simple, chunky artwork. Fine detail, small text, and thin serifs do not hold up in a raised print.
- Sizing: we print your artwork at the exact size you set. Do not mirror your image — our artists mirror it for you.
- Copyright: we cannot print copyrighted or licensed images without proof of ownership.
Application Instructions
Using a commercial-grade heat press:
- Temperature: 325°F
- Time: 7 seconds
- Pressure: Heavy / Max (60 PSI, or 8–9 setting)
- Peel: Hot — peel the backing immediately after opening the press
Never use a Teflon sheet, cover, or pillow with our plastisol formulas — they dissipate heat and cause a poor application.
Recommended fabrics: 100% cotton and cotton/polyester blends. As with any transfer, we recommend testing on your specific garment first, especially if it differs from the fabrics listed above.
Sizing Chart
When enlarging or shrinking, preserve the original image’s proportions. If the width is larger than the height, the width is treated as the longest side; if the height is larger, the height is the longest side.
