No, Glitter DTF Transfers are printed on glitter film, which has very fine glitter flakes embedded throughout. This means that your entire image will contain glitter.

When ordering a Glitter DTF, will the glitter be the same color as the image?

No, the glitter on Glitter DTF film is either rainbow, gold, or silver and cannot be changed. Please refer to the product listing to see which color of glitter you are ordering.

Is the glitter on a Glitter DTF transfer similar to Glitter Heat Transfer Vinyl?

No, the glitter on Glitter DTF transfers is a very fine, smooth glitter. It is not large, chunky flakes like those found in Glitter Heat Transfer Vinyl.

Do the application instructions change for different materials?

No, the instructions remain the same for all materials, including cotton, polyester, blends, leather, and other fabrics.

Heat transfer vinyl (HTV)

Why are my sheets and rolls of Siser not the exact size?

We occasionally receive questions about the difference between the size of the sheets and rolls customers receive and the size listed on our website. Many of the items we offer are not exact in size, and this holds true regardless of where the product is purchased, because they are manufactured that way. For instance, Siser EasyWeed 15″ rolls are actually 14.75″ wide, and 12″ Siser rolls are actually 11.8″ wide. Products like StarCraft HD are almost always exactly 24″ wide, so when we cut them they are true 12″ wide rolls or true 12″ x 12″ sheets. We make every effort to specify the actual measurements on the product pages.

Roll sizes are not exact because master rolls vary among manufacturers. Siser’s master rolls are 59″ wide, which means they can be cut into either five rolls that are 11.8″ wide or four rolls that are 14.75″ wide. Despite being labelled as 20″, Siser Glitter HTV rolls are actually 19.66″ wide. These measurements remain consistent regardless of the retailer you buy from — the 12″ wide rolls of Siser HTV sold at Michael’s are also 11.8″ wide, as indicated on the label.

It is common practice in the industry to sell sheets and roll sizes without specifying the actual measurements in the product name. Most industry professionals are already familiar with the sizes, which is why questions about it are rare.

For clarification, here are the actual dimensions:

• 12″ x 15″ sheets (EasyWeed, Stretch, Electric and others) — cut from a Siser 15″ roll, which is 14.75″ wide, so sheets are 12″ x 14.75″.
• 12″ x 12″ sheets — cut from a Siser 12″ roll, which is 11.8″ wide, so sheets are 11.8″ x 12″.
• 12″ x 24″ sheets — cut from a Siser 12″ roll, which is 11.8″ wide, so sheets are 11.8″ x 24″.
• 12″ x 20″ sheets (Glitter and Holographic) — cut from a Siser 20″ roll, which is 19.66″ wide, so sheets are 12″ x 19.66″.
• 12″ and 15″ wide rolls of Siser HTV — actually 11.8″ and 14.75″ wide, at the stated length (5 feet, 5 yards, etc.).
• 12″ and 24″ adhesive vinyl — very close to actual size, with a variance allowance of +/- 1/4″ for cutting.

Why is the color of the Puff HTV I ordered darker than the color shown on the website?

Puff HTV may appear darker when you receive it because it undergoes color dilution when pressed. The expansion causes colors to lighten, especially darker shades. The website shows the color after the puffing process, which can be lighter than the unpressed vinyl. The colors most affected are yellow, black, brown, dark grey, purple, royal blue, and navy blue. Once you apply heat and the vinyl expands, the color will match the lighter shade shown on our website.

What is the best heat press for beginners?

For beginners, we recommend a medium-sized heat press — 15″ x 15″ is a good starting size. Many offer adjustable temperature and pressure settings. We carry a range of Hotronix and MEM heat presses.
