Sublimation Transfers,Blanks And Supplies

Sublimation is ideal for complex designs, including photos, intricate patterns, and gradients. With sublimation, the colors remain vivid wash after wash, and the design retains its integrity over time.

Sublimation
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Sublimation is a printing process that uses heat to transfer dye into materials like polyester fabrics and polymer-coated items. When heated, the sublimation ink turns into a gas and bonds with the material, creating vibrant and long-lasting prints. This method is ideal for custom designs on apparel, mugs, tiles, and more, as it ensures high-quality, durable results that won’t crack, peel, or fade over time.

To perform sublimation, print your design on sublimation paper using sublimation ink, then place it on the substrate. Use a heat press to apply the necessary heat and pressure, allowing the ink to transfer and bond with the material.

The most cost-effective way to create a sublimation transfer gang sheet is by using our online gang sheet builder. You can easily access the builder directly on our website at this link.

The video below will provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to use the gang sheet builder. Please note, the online builder for sublimation transfers is the same builder for DTF transfers.

Sublimation transfers work best on polyester fabrics and polymer-coated substrates such as mugs, tiles, and metals. Atlanta Vinyl distributes products such as Silky Socks, which are designed specifically for sublimation.

No, sublimation transfers are not effective on cotton fabrics. They require polyester or polymer-coated materials to bond properly. If you prefer to have a sublimated design on a cotton garment, you would need to apply a heat transfer vinyl that can be sublimated on, or use on of our heat transfer vinyls that are designed to be sublimated on, then cut, weeded, masked, and heat pressed.

Sublimated Items should be washed in cold water with mild detergent and dried on low heat to maintain the quality and vibrancy of the design.

No, sublimation requires special sublimation ink to achieve the desired results. Regular ink will not bond with the substrate and will not produce the vibrant, durable designs that sublimation is known for.

Sublimation involves transferring ink into the fabric, resulting in a permanent, vibrant design, while heat transfer involves applying a vinyl or transfer on top of the fabric. Choose sublimation for polyester and heat transfer for a wider range of materials.
